MatterLink Custom Tables

November 15, 2020 by BEC Legal Systems

In release 4.2, the Custom Table feature lets you extend the CoreRelate database to include tables of your own making!  It allows tracking of “one to many” data, as opposed to the existing Custom Fields feature, which is limited to a “one to one” data structure.

How does it work?

The MatterLink Taxonomy Editor has been updated to allow for creation of links and foreign keys to standard MatterLink tables. This allows you to track significant “spreadsheet style” data, with multiple rows of information.   For example:  Medical Malpractice matters that must track multiple sets of medical records including the date the records were requested and received, the content of the records, and notes for the records.  In addition, for multiple defendants, a custom table can track transcript records and insurance information.

The Custom Tables feature can be used to meet a wide variety of specialized requirements for your firm.  BEC Product Managers can work with you to assess your requirements and determine if Custom Tables is a good fit for you. Custom tables will require configuration and setup by BEC Professional Services staff.
